A Surprise-Filled Classroom Review Game

Tornado combines lesson questions with randomized rewards that can change the score at any moment. Create your own board or use a saved board for an energetic team review activity.

How to Play

  1. Select a board or create 25 questions.
  2. Choose up to six classroom teams.
  3. Select a numbered question from the board.
  4. Reveal the answer and apply its reward.

Surprise Rewards

Questions can award points or trigger special rewards such as Double, Switch, or Tornado. Teachers can adjust scores manually throughout the game.

Made for Flexible Lessons

  • Vocabulary and language review
  • Test preparation and quiz practice
  • Image-based questions and answers
  • Timed team challenges

Organizing the Teams

Tornado can be adapted for learners of different ages. Keep teams small enough for every student to join the discussion. Teams take turns choosing a numbered question, discuss their answer, and rotate speakers so everyone has a chance to respond.

What the Rewards Mean

  • Double: doubles the selected team's current score.
  • Switch: lets scores change places between teams.
  • Tornado: resets the selected team's score.

Review Through Team Play

Use Tornado for vocabulary and listening practice, speaking activities, general knowledge, or review before a test. The changing rewards keep the result uncertain and give teams a reason to stay involved until the final question.

Before playing, explain that surprise rewards can change or remove points at any time. Encourage good sportsmanship and choose another review format if sudden score changes would not suit the group.
