Category Clash turns lesson questions into a team-based classroom review game. Use a prepared board or create categories, questions, answers, and optional images for your own lesson.
Logged-in teachers can save their own boards, add images to questions or answers, and create shareable links for other teachers.
Category Clash can be used with learners of any age. Aim for four to six students per team so everyone can contribute to the discussion. Choose the number of teams that best matches the size of the class.
The teacher can select a question, or teams can take turns choosing a category and question. Team members discuss their answer while the timer runs. When time ends, the groups reveal their answers and the teacher awards points to the teams that answered correctly.
The board editor lets the teacher adjust the available scores to suit the lesson. Category Clash works well for general-knowledge questions, lesson review, and activities where learners need to explain and agree on an answer together.
Rotate the team speaker after each question so every learner has an opportunity to share an answer. This keeps the activity focused on group discussion and team participation rather than allowing the same student to answer every time.
